Ridge's Baby Blessing

Ridge was blessed a couple Sunday's ago. Peter did an awesome job on the blessing. The best part of the day was hearing him bare his testimony afterwards. I always love hearing his testimony. It always sems to strengthen mine too. The only bummer of the day was that our ghetto camera decided to stop working. All but two of the pictures we took from that day turned out fuzzy and had random lines running through them and of course the pictures didn't even have him in them. Of course it had to happen on those pics. A few days later Ridge had to play dress up again and get into his blessing outfit again so we could have a photo shoot (with our new fabulous camera). Thank you for those of you who have e-mailed me pics. from that day. I will have to post some of those later. Ridge is really the happiest baby ever but for some reason after I spent ten minutes getting him dressed he was so crabby. So here are a few pics. of him in his cutest ever five piece suit. Seriously this is the best blessing outfit in the world. For an awesome blessing outfit check out Crismon's Baby Boutique in Mesa on University. Seriously you cannot say his little suit is not to die for. He is getting so chubby I love it. Doesn't he look like a mini temple worker. Not the best picture but I can't be too picky. Sorry I forgot to rotate it before I posted. One of the two pics. that did not turn out fuzzy. Really who kisses like that. The leg popped and all. Daddy and Ridge!! The other pic. that turned out. How perfect is that flower? One of my nephews picked it and we decided it was not allowed to go to waste so I took the liberty to wear it. It totally looks fake.

Family pictures

Since we have a new member of our fam. I decided it was time to hit up good ol' Target portrait studios again. I guess it has been about 9 months so we were in need of a new picture any way. Tytan was so overly tired and we all know what that means he was a special treat during pictures. The lady bribed him with a Christmas ornament so if you look closely you can see he is holding a gold ornament. Since he was in such a great mood we didn't get one good pic. of him by himself. I'll just have to take him back another time to get his individual picture done again. Ridge was also blessed last Sunday so when I get around to it I'll post those too. We had a little camera mishap so it might take me a little while.

5 weeks old already

Hope you aren't sick of seeing pics. of Ridge yet. I know I've posted a lot recently. They just change so much every day I figured every picture is like looking at a different baby. We went to the doctor last week and found out Ridge is in the 83rd percentile for weight. I am so excited right now. I've been praying for a baby that likes to eat and finally I have one. He was also 90 percent for height. He is just fat and tall. I hope it can stay that way. I also just posted pictures of Tytan at the Zoo. Enjoy!! (Jenna these pictures are for you!!) Mama's boyz!! Best Friends. (I hope)

ZOO

Peter actually had a day off on Thursday so we took a family trip to the Phoenix Zoo. Tytan thought he had died and gone to heaven. Ridge was so good he laid in the stroller for all three hours and didn't make a peep. I wish we lived a little closer to the Zoo because I would go a lot more often. It is a good work out pushing a double stroller up and down all the little hills. Next break he has we are going to try out the Wildlife world Zoo. Tyte at the petting zoo. This was his favorite part of the zoo. He gathered all the hay off the ground then sat in the middle of the goats to feed them all. He really isn't scared of anything. (except nursery) Dad and Tytan looking at the Lions. Sorry it is really hard to see them. Tytan and the Monkey. I was cracking up this monkey is sound asleep with his head resting on that ledge. I love this Tractor picture!! Flamingos

The Surgery

As some of you already know Tytan went in for his G tube Surgery. We were in the Hospital for 10 very long days. He first went under for an endoscopy and to put in a ph probe. They were supposed to go in after the ph probe study (24 hours later) and have the surgeon install his G tube and his Nissen but they discovered he had severe Pneumonia. We had to wait a few days to get that under control before he could go under the knife for his surgery that I have been waiting so long for. The surgery went really well and I know it was all due to so many prayers and much fasting that truly made all of this go so well. I think the hardest thing in the world is to see your baby in so much pain and not be able to do anything for him, but I had to keep reminding myself that it was for his good and it can only get better from here on out. Since we've been home he is on a 24 hour a day tube hooked from an iv pole to his stomach. Chasing a 16 month old around a house with an iv pole all day is a lot of hard work. Keep in mind the tubing only allows for about a 2-3 foot lead between the two of us. Trust me I sleep very well at night. For those of you that don't know what a G tube is, its a feeding tube that goes directly into his stomach. So instead of my baby starving every day he is able to finally get the nutrition he needs without it hurting him or giving him Pneumonia again. A Nissen also called a Fundo Plication (I totally just murdered the spelling of that) is when the surgeon takes the top of his stomach and wraps part of it around itself and stitches it together so now Tytan won't be able to throw anything up any more. The crazy thing about that is now he has to burp through the hole in his stomach. I have to open the G tube once a day, hook up a special decompression tube and let him burp. It is totally crazy but I am so grateful for all of this. Just think to add to all of this I have a baby due in 7 weeks. Wow life is foing to be one big party soon!!!Right after the Endoscopy and inserting the ph probe up his nose and into his stomach. He is still out cold from the procedures. Close up of what the ph probe looks like. I didn't get a pic. of the small box that this tube is connected to. A ph Probe measures the amount of acid in his stomach and esophugus. The hospital was awesome they must have felt bad that we were in the hospital over Thanksgiving so Tigger came to cheer all the kids up. Tytan was in love with Tigger. Look how tall my boy is. He is still in the 95th percent for height. If only we could get his weight up there too.Picture of his stomach before surgery. Sad to know it will never look like this again. His belly button looks totaly different.A little after surgery we had to let his stomach drain. I'm not sure why because he wasn't allowed to eat for 48 hours before. This is the same tube I use every time I burp him.Hanging out at home hooked to our beloved IV pole. In the blue bag is all of his milk which runs through that pump then into his stomach.Close up of his belly after surgery. The cut on the top middle is where they put in the Nissen. The two on the sides and his belly button are where they cut to put in the G tube. Obviously the large plastic/rubber thing sticking out of him is the G tube itself. His stomach looks a little bloated beacuse his stomach is getting used to all of this food.
Super close up of the G tube. That piece is stuck on there all the time. I am just super paranoid he is going to pull it out.
